The Blossom Report: 2025 Edition
If your screen time is up this week, just blame bloom scrolling...
Spring has felt extra blossom-packed this year. Great pillows of puffy petals packing out the country lane hedgerows, from Blackthawn, to Gorse, to the wild Apple trees and Hawthorn.
Here’s a photo diary of what’s been blooming this spring.
First came the Magnolia in March. Pink and white against grey skies - a small branch brought inside to enjoy.
Then came the blackthorn, lighting up the hedgerows with the promise of fairer weather, and sloes in autumn.
Next, the Gorse came to life in giant petal pillows.
Then a domino effect. The Apple blossom and Peonies arrived all at once, and the hedgerows came alive with spring showstoppers.
And of course the forest floor was carpeted by Bluebells and Wild Garlic.
And for the final show, Horse Chestnut candles standing tall. The most exotic of English blossom I’d say.
Spring 2025, we salute you 🫡
This is a fun one! Magnolia is a highlight. I also always await the blooming of elderflowers in mid/late May.
